
According to the newly-released 2012 Chinese Cities’ Competitiveness Report by the Finance and Economics Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, research center of Cities and Competitiveness of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Chinese Cities’ Competitiveness Research Group, Hong Kong topped the list of the 10 China competitive cities, followed by Taipei and Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Hangzhou, Qingdao and Changsha. The report analyzed the competitiveness indices of 294 cities in the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.
As an important coastal city, Qingdao enters into the top 10 cities several times, reflecting its steady and robust development of economy and society.
